REFERENCE / WEBCLIENT

The webclient guide.

Connect your radio, open the client, and listen with RM Noise.

01. Your RM Noise account

Register using your callsign, or sign in with your existing RM Noise credentials. Use the email you registered with if you need to recover your password.

02. Connect your audio

Connect your radio’s audio output to your computer’s audio input or a suitable USB audio interface. Connect headphones or speakers to your listening device.

In the webclient, choose the input receiving the radio and the output you want to hear. Check the radio and computer levels to avoid overdriving the input. See the input-level guide for examples.

Start with a low listening volume. Check that the input device is your radio interface rather than a room microphone.

03. Launch & listen

  1. Open the webclient workspace and select Launch webclient.
  2. Sign in within the client if prompted.
  3. Choose your audio devices and start the connection using the client controls.
  4. Tune your radio and select the appropriate voice or CW filter.

The established RM Noise client runs inside the workspace. You can also open its standalone page.

04. Work with your signal

Use the original/filtered blend to compare the incoming audio with the AI-filtered signal. Adjust the blend for intelligibility. Review the active client’s controls for mute, bypass, time-shift, and advanced settings.

Learn what the filtering sounds like in the voice and CW demonstrations. Those examples use noise the network had previously trained on.

For noise recordings and training requirements, read Recordings and the top problems and the recording submission guide.

05. Browser audio permissions

Use a current browser on HTTPS, or localhost when testing through an SSH tunnel. Allow audio-input access when prompted. Some browsers also require a click to begin audio playback.

If you change an audio device while the client is open, confirm the selection in the client. Available device and output choices depend on the browser and operating system.

06. If something is missing

No input or the wrong signal?
Check the radio connection, chosen input, operating-system audio permissions, and browser site permissions.
Connected but silent?
Check output selection, volume, mute, and whether the browser is waiting for a playback gesture.
Distortion or clipping?
Reduce the radio or interface input level and compare against the input-level guide.
Connection trouble?
Check your network, review messages in the client, and try the standalone client page. Use the community forum for further help.
